Manga Review: Omamori Himari

Title: Omamori Himari
Author: Matra Milan
Release: Monthly
Status: Ongoing
Genre: Harem, Shonen, Ecchi
Art: A
Originality: B
Story: B
Characters: B
Humor: B
Action: A

Impression: This is the story of the sole heir of a family of demon exterminators that has been living unaware of his family’s legacy. That all changes one day as the cat-demon that serves his family comes to his place in the city to watch over him. The main character is allergic to cats and has a memory gap of his childhood so he can’t remember who she is but she does. Later more and more people and demons that come after him for his blood enter the story and some of them take their place in their harem. This story has more than its fair share of fanservice but it also has some good action scenes thrown in there on the occasion. There’s even an actual plotline fitted in between all of those fanservice shots so it’s got some story value too. It makes for a decent read but it’s not all that compelling so I usually read this when there’s a batch of new chapters to read.
