Impression: This is about Kuzumi Taiga, a guy who got turned down by his dream high school because he flopped his interview session. Not knowing what to say when he was asked what he’d do if he knew magic, he panicked and said he’d take over the world and a girl in his group burst into a fit of laughs. For him that was love at first sight so he passes by that high school one day and due to a misunderstanding gets pulled into the school by a teacher and discovers that it’s actually a school for teaching magic. After a series of events, he is admitted into the school as a fake top class student mage so that he and the teacher that revealed the secret wouldn’t have to their memories erased. From that point forward he has to keep the true nature of his stay at the school by faking his supposedly powerful abilities using his wits. Also, the magic plate he got can only erase magic instead of casting it so he's not completely unarmed. Its got a very interesting plot where battles depend on actual strategy rather than the patented dragonball power brawls. The lead himself is very likeable as he's one of those nice guys with a sharp brain who's always the underdog in fights since he can't actually do the magic his friends thinks he can. The author really knew how to make the battles interesting since he managed to make every one of them feel like watching a magic show. This was one shonen manga that had the potential to be greater than the current big three of Shonen Jump. To describe the anguish that spread over the internet when fans found out that it was going to be cancelled would be something like having thousands of souls cry out in horror at the same time(That's either a Doctor Who or Gundam 00 reference). There were SO many ideas that went down the drain when it was cancelled and I was looking forward to seeing Kuzumi develop his only way of becoming a mage. Just what exactly made them want to pull this out when the story was only going to get better and that the volumes were selling well?
