Manga Review: Kure-nai

Photobucket

Title: Kure-nai
Author: Katayama Kentarou, Yamamoto Yamato
Release: Monthly
Status: Ongoing
Genre: Seinen
Art: A
Originality: B
Story: B
Characters: B
Humor: B
Action: B

Impression: This is based on a series of light novels about a guy who works as a bodyguard for various clients. He’s engaged to an orphaned young seven-year old family heiress of a prestigious family. A friend recommended the anime to me sometime last year but the moment I heard that there was loli character involved, I immediately forgot about it. That guy was a lolicon through and through so his advice at the time was dubious at best. I gave it a try after I downloaded a whole bunch of chapters and found that I was right to pass on it. I couldn’t get myself interested in the story and I didn’t like the characters. Also, the way that the story is set-up is a bit off since the first chapter felt more like one in the middle of the story than a beginning.
