Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2010!!

Puasa's over and I can finally get back to my normal sleep cycles, the ones I so dearly missed. It was over before I knew it and I ended up not going to the stalls at the stadium as much as the past few years. Stall selections wasn't quite as interesting as last year's but it nice all the same. Can't believe Raya came early this year either. They say it's always been late even since before I was born but it actually came early when I completely expected otherwise. At any rate, a "Selamat Hari Raya!!" to all who celebrate it!

Visitng the New Plot and Leaving a New Form

I'm back from visiting the new plot of land that my grandpa got back from the government and surprisingly enough it's located no less than a good half minute sprint away from the Sultan's new oil rig. I went with expecting to have a good time playing with my new knife while picking fruits from one of his orchards but it seems that my little sister misconstrued what my mom said and had in turn misinformed about what we would be doing there.

Sigh... I really wanted to see how much more easily I could branches and fruits ala Zantetsuken with this one. And yes, with a fruit knife. I can go all Ryogi Shiki on your ass with a mere fruit knife. My Kendo training has engraved in me a key understanding in how to properly deliver a cut and slice through the head, wrist and bellies of my imaginary enemy. I've simply applied what I learned from that to fruit knives. Hopefully I'll get to try it out with an actual combat knife and a Katana in the future.

New knife. Also a fruit knife but no sheath.

A very nice fruit knife...

At any rate, it's a lot easier to slice through things than my old one but I really wanted to see how much farther I could take it in terms of severing organic material. Oh well. Hopefully I'll find an opportunity to try it out sometime soon. Here's a pic of a spot near the land. It was a picture perfect kind of scene but the camera we brought wouldn't let us take pictures because the battery was too low. And no, it's not what you think. I mean the camera wouldn't let us take pictures even though it was still on. What the hell were were the designers thinking when they put that function in? That's why all you get of the scene is this low quality pic from my phone.

It was B-E-A-Utiful

P.s. That leaving a new form bit in the title refers to the new contact form I left on my profile page. If you want to reach me privately, just go to my About Me page.

Anime Funfair

This really should have been posted up last week but somehow my daily schedule works against me writing up new posts for my blog. In any case here is here are the photos of the funfair held in my school last week. I already had them posted up on my facebook account but only got around to posting these up here now.

The funfair took place on 25th of November, the same day as the closing ceremony for the CCA clubs. It was supposed to have been held months ago but the H1N1 scare put it on hold indefinitely. That's why we the members of the anime club decided to hold our own funfair so that the costumes we prepared wouldn't go to waste.

As I was the president of the club, I was the one to plan out the event and make sure everything went smoothly or it'll be on my head. Events consisted of a Cosplay Cafe, an anime screening, an anime merchandise exhibition, a games booth, a lucky draw and several performances.

Preparation was extremely last minute though since I couldn't get everyone to come to one place at the same time except for the day. It's a miracle that event was successful with half of our staff being in the hall and there being mix-ups that caused a few sparks here and there. Somehow, I managed to do a lot of damage control and put out the flames before they could ruin the event. I swear, teenagers can so hotheaded at times. Throwing Auzee into the mix didn't help either since she was a factor in a number of the problems I had to sort out.

In any case the funfair was a success despite the fact that I only got only six hours worth of sleep for the three days prior to it. I am amazed at my endurance considering the fact that I was pretty much running around managing things all around for hours straight(3 hours in a suit).

Me taking picture after putting on my costume.

Just right after the students came out of the Auditorium

A guest from SMR came cosplaying as Hatsune Miku

Adlan was dressed as Tobi that day.

The collection of Gundams in the middle of the room.

The guys hanged around in here for most of the funfair while I was busy running around.

It was a pretty impressive sight.

Figmas on a separate table.

That Date Masamune speaks if you press a button

Khai's Tsukasa and Miyuki Summer Figmas on my di:stages.

The Game booth

That board is a treasure hunt event. 8/12 of my riddles were solved.

The girls at the Sales booth.

Hamizah dressed as some emo from Persona.

Khai's Hatsune Miku PVC Statue

My Hatsune Miku Figma in front of Khai's Kagamine Twins'

Hafiz assembling Khai's 1/144 HG Arios

Adlan's replica of Auron's blade. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be bigger though.

Shaminan dressed up as member of some country's special forces squad.

Fooling around in the Exhibition room.

Afiq's hair wasn't that messy in the morning. The science lab smelled sickeningly sweet after the funfair.

All Day Raya Trip!

Last Thursday, me and about 80 or so students in my year went on an all day Raya trip to our teachers’ and our friends’ houses. We split up into two batches of two groups in buses per batch so that we wouldn’t have too many people in one house. Most of the guys were put onto the UIC bus while me, Rif, Khai and Shaminan were put onto a different bus since they ran out of room there. I think that was a good thing since we got a whole free space since there was only 10 passengers on our 30+ seats bus.

There was also Jin and Alim who tagged along with the other batch using their car. The planned trip started around 9 in the morning and ended at about 10 at night making it a 13-hour trip for those who stuck the whole way. I went home at the third last house because I lived near the teacher for that house at 8 so I shaved off 2 hours from the trip. It seems that I gave the girls’ bus of the other batch a scare when I waved as they passed by. According to Rif and Khai who were still around to hear their thoughts, I appeared by the side of the road out of nowhere like a ghost when the bus headlights hit me and my waving hand made it look like I was a spectre trying to hitch-hike. LOL! I have a talent and hobby for scaring people.

Welcome to the Enrichment Centre. After all this is done, there will be cake...

1st stop at Cikgu Rosita's and Shaminan's already beat.

Never seen a flower like this before. Anyone knows what it is?

Right outside of Cikgu Izam's place. He wasn't there on our first try.

So we visited Cikgu Azlan's next. All our teachers seem to have nice gardens.

Inside of CIkgu Azlan's house. Very nice interior

Lol... AHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Super lol!!

Note that door in the archway. It was at this house my warning about the toilet queue came into effect. Shaminan had to wait till the next house to hit the loo.

His way of keeping his mind off the toilet...

We passed a reservoir of some sort to the next house.

I was told that huge building was the Katok school

Rif was trying to corrupt the youth into locking the door. It worked. Couldn't get them to call Shahminan "pehin" though.

Khai has a cup on his head and I'm not quite sure where his neighbor's eyes are aimed at

I repeat. The kid locked that toilet door, not us.

It was at this point the girls came up with the panji-panji pose for group photos later.

I was seriously worried when the bus stopped here. Good thing no one we knew lived up on the hill.

My best pictures always seem to be flowers for some reason

This was our 11th house I think...

This was a mini torch I brought along. Was helpful on my walk back home.

Cikgu Aqilah's new house. The design was amazing.

The Cake is (Not) a Lie!

I only had the cheesecake though. I simply love cheesecake.

Believe or not, this is a Patio

Told ya

This reminded of a crystal from an RPG I once played

Behold the Ghost Bus tailing us!

We had a lot of fun that day and Shaminan really gave us a lot of loltastic pics. Khai even came with a magic sinjang that summoned a cat out of nowhere. I myself had been to the toilet as many times as we visited houses, not every house though I had to use three times at Asilah's house. I think that leg massager device at her place got me too relaxed. Most of the food we ate was good but kudos to Cikgu Izam and Afiq for their Shepherd's Pie and Stuffed Potatoes, they were absolutely amazing! Hopefully I'll be in for more treats this Saturday for the school's Teacher's Day & Raya Celebration. That's it for now.
