Genre: Seinen

Originality: B
Story: B
Characters: S
Humor: B

Impression: This about a trio of teenagers who are trying to make their way into one of the most prestigious universities in Japan but lack the qualifications to be accepted into it so they come up with a scheme to cheat their way in by stealing the answer sheets to the entrance exam. They are an insufferable maths genius, a ditzy chick and an aimless guy with a godlike talent for pickpocketing. The gold in this treasure chest of a manga lies with its characters and the gall they have for doing the things they do. I’m not much up for the story since I’ve seen quite a few big ploy plots done before but I can’t say I’ve seen one where a bunch of teenagers are trying to get their goal relying on so few resources. The characters have flaws that make it easy to sympathize with them and funny quirks that make their personalities memorable. On a side note, the art style really seems to resemble Kubo Tite’s style at times.
